This is a reproduction D end dining table on tripod legs and a center extension panel. The lacquer finish on the top was badly damaged and perished and a large section of the cross n band edging was detached or missing. The legs were finished in a ‘green’ tone paint lacquer. The client wanted it ‘french’ polished. It was stripped. In the process of preparation it was discovered that much of the veneer was lose and had to be consolidated. the legs were found to be solid mahogany and far better quality than first imagined. Two of the resting slips on one side of the top that permitted the centre section to sit on whilst being fixed were missing.

The whole table was stripped. All the detached ad missing cross band edge were replaced. It was then hand polished in shellac. New table connectors were sourced and fitted.
