This desk had a badly damaged surface with the lacquer having been chipped away. The leather was still in good condition and was to be retained. The legs needed consolidation. The work was carried out to ensure the desk was sound, the handles removed and the old damaged surface stripped. It was then finished by hand with shellac polish and wax. The handles were polished and refitted.
