This was a very nice Rosewood Secretaire dating from the Regency Period. It was in very poor condition.  The first job was to attach a broken foot to stabilise the piece. There were extensive repairs to the veneers, cross banding and cock beading.  There were large holes in the upper large drawer that were plugged. The thick rosewood veneers lining the drawers were buckled.  The drawer was taken apart, the veneers lifted from the substrate, a new mahogany substrate made and the drawer was then put back together again. It was then polished and waxed.
