The initial enquiry was to restore a desk that had been kept in a garage for many years and was in very poor condition. It had a very dark finish that made it difficult to see the wood and a damaged top and marked rexine writing inlay. The desk was stripped and the rexine inlay removed. The joints were consolidated. It was then polished to give the wood a mellow golden brown tone and a new tooled leather skiver fitted.
