My clients had an old door that they wanted made into a coffee table. The door was in a poor state with its original handle still fitted. The handle had to be removed and an oak patch fitted to cover the hole that was left. The door was cut down to an agreed size and the bottom and top shaped to replicate the moulded edges of the panels. It was stripped of it’s original perished finish and refinished in a silk hardwax oil.  A base was then made by local blacksmith Philip Candy (https://www.pcandyblacksmith.co.uk/). Finally a toughened glass top was acquired from ARB Glass in West End.
