One of the legs had been broken and then stuck back with PVA, broken off again and the integrity of the fit lost.  The damaged wood was removed. The pedestal top had been damaged with one side of the hinge ripped off. The opposite side to the hinge had a small catch that held the banjo catch iunto position.  This had been ripped off and the small catch lost.
A new piece of timber was insereted onto the bottom of the leg and to reinforce it a large screw was inserted. A patch was fitted into the damaged area and a new hinge shaped. On the opposite side a patch was fitted.
The finished leg, coloured in to match The replacement hinge, coloured in to match The opposite side showing a new brass catch to hold the banjo catch into position.
